What does it cover?

Custom software development with an interest-free loan: what is eligible?

The loan finances the technological and organisational renewal of the business. These are the items where we are the supplier:

Custom software and business applications

Back-office systems, customer portals, integrations and internal tools, e.g. CRM, production management or document management.

Intangible assets (e.g. CPA 62.01): up to 20% of the project

AI solutions and automation

AI-based analytics applications, document and records management, workflow automation on your own data.

Software counts as intangible, its infrastructure as ICT

ICT equipment

Servers, AI servers, workstations, network and telecommunications equipment (at least HUF 200,000 net per item).

ICT equipment: up to 40% (if computers are the longest-depreciating assets in the project, the term is max. 24 months)

Rollout, integration, training

Specification, customisation, installation, integration, data migration and staff training.

Services and training together: up to 7% (implementation services capped at HUF 25,000 net per hour)

Cost limits at a glance

As a share of the project’s eligible costs

  • New fixed assetsat least 10%
  • ICT equipmentat most 40%
  • Intangible assets (e.g. software)at most 20%
  • Services and training combinedat most 7%

Example In a HUF 100 million project, at most HUF 20 million can be software, at most HUF 40 million ICT equipment and at most HUF 7 million services and training, while at least HUF 10 million must be new fixed assets.

A simple arithmetic example to illustrate the limits, not an offer.

Why does the project mix matter?

The call sets cost limits: at least 10% new fixed assets, at most 40% ICT equipment, at most 20% intangible assets and at most 7% services and training combined. The software must fall into one of the 14 functional areas of the call (e.g. CRM, production management, workflow management, document management), and consulting fees are only eligible from qualified consultants listed on vali.hu. The loan can also finance machinery, building upgrades or renewable energy for own use (e.g. solar panels). That is why we plan software and AI development as part of the overall investment, aligned with the professional annexes of the call.

How does it work?

One team from loan to launch

  1. Free eligibility check

In a short call we check whether the business is eligible and what loan amount is realistic.

  2. Project plan and budget

We design the development within the cost limits of the call: software, AI, ICT equipment, rollout, training.

  3. Loan application

Our grant-writing partner prepares the loan application and submits it through an MFB Pont Plusz intermediary.

  4. Implementation

After signing, we deliver and roll out the solution. The implementation period is 24 months, which can be extended by 6 months if justified.

  5. Reporting and operations

We prepare the supplier documentation needed for reporting, provide the at least one-year product support required by the call, and operate the system in the long run.

Who is it for?

Your business may be eligible if it…

  • SME size and seatis a micro, small or medium-sized enterprise (SME) with a registered office in Hungary, or with a registered office in the EEA and a branch in Hungary,

  • Viabilityis economically viable and has a Hungarian tax number,

  • Legal formoperates as a Kft., Rt., Kkt., Bt., cooperative (including social and European cooperatives), European company (SE), sole company, sole trader, Hungarian branch of a foreign company, or non-profit Kft., Rt. or Bt. (consortia cannot apply),

  • Outside Budapestimplements the investment outside Budapest: Budapest-based companies can apply if the project runs at a site or branch outside the capital that is already listed in the company register when the application is submitted (for software and hardware, the place of accounting capitalisation counts),

  • Collateralcan provide collateral: the investment itself must be pledged, and the expected coverage is 50% (software does not count as collateral).

How much can you borrow?

All loans requested under the "A" objective together cannot exceed fifteen times the operating profit of the last closed financial year before the assessment. Start-ups without one closed, full (12-month) financial year can apply for up to HUF 50 million, with a personal guarantee from the individual owner(s) holding more than 50% (for sole traders, from another private individual).

Not available, among others, if

  • the company is subject to bankruptcy, liquidation, voluntary winding-up or restructuring proceedings ordered by a final decision, or a linked enterprise (or a majority-owned company of an owner holding at least 25%) is under bankruptcy or liquidation proceedings or subject to enforcement (unless instalment payment has been granted),
  • the investment is already completed on the day of the loan decision (a project started before the application can only be financed as de minimis aid),
  • the main activity is food processing (NACE 10–11), or more than 50% of revenue comes from it, or at least 40% of revenue comes from agricultural activity,
  • the final official licence required for operation is missing,
  • the purchase would be made from an owner, executive, their relatives or a linked enterprise.
